My Dinner with Andrew
Robert John Ford has written a very interesting, very true account of his experience with Andrew Cunanan. Though Robert’s story is compelling, his acting lacks the experience needed to fully pull in the audience. Certainly, I understand the need to tell his story in his own words, but perhaps this show would have been better if he had just sat down and talked to the audience. The other actor in the show, Matthew McIver was working his ass off. He played multiple roles, moving the story with great energy and commitment. He was pretty amazing to watch. And did I mention he’s pretty hot. He is. I wanted the show to be My Dinner with Matthew McIver, followed by breakfast in the morning.
A chilling story, a great co-star…but needed a little something extra to push this up to the next level.
I give this show Four Gaye Golden Stars and One Leg in the Air.
