ANDREW RASMUSSEN IS CONFUSED
I’ve always been under the impression that something like “MN Premiere” would mean “first occurrence in the state of Minnesota”.  But I must be wrong, because there it is right on the website.  Andrew Rasmussen and his company, Cardinal Theatricals, will soon be opening Rent…the “MN premiere” of Rent.
But maybe it’s a misunderstanding, right?  Maybe “MN” stands for something other than “Minnesota”.  More from the website:

“About the Production — For the first time in history, RENT lands in Minnesota with an innovative and immersive theatrical production in the 6,000 square foot warehouse  Lab Theater in downtown Minneapolis.”

If that sounds weird to anyone else, it’s probably because you saw one of the gazillion touring productions of Rent that have passed through Saint Paul in the last decade.
That’s Saint Paul, Minnesota…which is located in Minnesota.
[update:  All “premiere” talk has been removed from the website.]
