FULL FRONTAL: A TALE OF LOVE & LOBOTOMIES

There are two shows at this year’s Fringe which use “Full Frontal” in their show titles.  One is an improv show, and one — the one I saw last night — might have been better had it been improvised.
The problem with this show does not lie with the actors or even the direction.  Both are done with a certain level of proficiency.  No, the problem here is the script.  It has a terrible amount of trouble making up its mind.  One moment it’s a straight play, the next it’s a screwball comedy.  One scene will spew out a musical number only to be followed by something dramatic.  Lauren Wills, however, has a great talent for drawing face penises.  It’s a lot harder than she makes it look.
This show doesn’t belong on a Worst of the Fringe list, but it’s also not something I can recommend.
