CASEBOLT AND SMITH: SPEAKING OUT!
EVERYONE was talking about this show. Actors, staff, technicians, and audience members alike. At Bedlam on Saturday night as many as nine different people told me that I MUST SEE THIS SHOW. You’d think after all this that it might be over-hyped, that the bar was set too high, that they’d never be able to live up to my inflated expectations. Well, they did.
This show is made up of four innovative and unique pieces that I’m still thinking about many, many hours later. It was wildly engaging and completely accessible to anyone looking to be turned on by dance, movement, or just something that’s really fucking cool. I was floored by the level at which these two performed; Liz Casebolt and Joel Smith moved with great skill and precision and the choreography was intelligent and heartfelt. Both have an MFA in Experimental Choreography and it shows in these stunning pieces.
